I love it when a plan comes together …

A week out from the mega busy weekend, and everything is in place ready to go for both Kammerklang and BigCi events (or at least my parts anyway 🙂 ). This must be some sort of record for me, but amazing what deadlines do for you.

Still from 'Electro Fractal Gamelan'The image attached is a still from the new work ‘Electro Fractal Gamelan’, composed specially for my fire tubes by Peggy Polias. To say that I have again enjoyed this whole collaboration with musicians to stretch my boundaries in both thought and techniques would be an substantial understatement. I am really looking forward to where the next installment will take me.

Below is the latest email advertising for Kammerklang – needless to say we are getting a little excited about the high end collaborative event.

One Week Until Ablaze!

Book tickets now to grab the best seats in the house

It’s hard to believe that the final event is only a week away. It’s been an amazing, crazy and inspiring few months for myself and the Kammerklang artists. I’m looking forward to showing off the final product.

For those keen for some behind-the-scenes info, fire artist Keith Chidzey has written a blog on his website detailing his experiences with Kammerklang and the processes he’s using on his new work. Check it out here.

The Australian Music Centre‘s online magazine, Resonate, recently posted a blog by composer Peggy Polias describing her two pieces for Ablaze and her experiences collaborating with Keith. Click here to have a read.

We finished up our final dress rehearsal and press preview on Wednesday it was excellent to finally see and hear everything together. We’d love for you to experience it too, don’t forget to book your tickets here.

Online booking closes at 6:30pm, Friday June 6. Tickets will also be available at the venue from 6:35pm (cash only), but seating is assigned, so first in, best dressed.

Finally, if you’re looking for something to do while you wait for next Friday, Kammerklang’s website has again been updated with all new pictures and biographical information on all of our composers, visual artists, musical performers and dancers.

Look forward to sharing Kammerklang Ablaze with you all next Friday,

-Cameron Lam
