Creatives Continue

As the year rapidly comes to an end with the Christmas silly season, work is progressing nicely around here.

Even though you haven’t heard much from me lately I have been very busy getting my work for the Biennale happening.

Three pieces are going to Italy next year:

  • One [fire performance in the land] is already done from my Master's research into fire (Secrets Bare - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDrG_zo5dMQ ). It just needs some final tweaking to update and refine for the Biennale stage.

  • One [mixed media sculpture] is at the rough carved stage – it will be Huon Pine, bronze and glass (progress pictures will be uploaded soon to my Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/chidzey.art/ )

  • And the other [another fire performance - Breath] is in its final stages of being edited. Attached is the first still image was taken from the footage.

To say I’m pleased with how it is all progressing would be an understatement. This all represents some of the best work I have done to date.

Work will continue apace on these until Christmas, then it is off on a road trip to beautiful Tasmania again. A highlight of this will be returning to have an interlude in Poatina. I have been asked to lead a bronze sculpture elective in Faith and the Arts retreat (http://www.poatinaarts.org.au/index.php/faith-and-the-arts/fata-electives/bronze-sculpture )– which is already fully subscribed ... exciting times!
