October, *shudder

Never fails, October every year brings out some psychotic episode ... and so the tradition continues. Fortunately, it is now November and things are settling in their run towards the end of the year. But there is much to be done.

- Immediately I am sitting in the new Sidings Art Space, at the Brown's Sidings Cafe in Medlow Bath, Blue Mountains, minding their very first art show. My old friends Warwick and Diane Saxby were kind enough to offer me the inaugural gig (suspect they wanted me to find out the bugs for them :-) - is what friends do). I am very happy to see my work on the wall again in a great little setting, and watch people enjoy what I do.

- At the same time as minding the space, the opportunity is just too good to let slide to be able to knuckle down and get some more ticked over on this thesis. Due date is getting closer! Title: Is it possible for an individual to achieve personal refinement through pyritic methodology? - or ‘wipe that dross off your face.....’

- Due to illness last week I, unfortunately, missed heading out to Villawood Detention to be with the kids (miss the little gremlins!). But now, with the way the visiting is structured out there it looks like it will be a bit of a bother to get back in easily - stay tuned. But, did get to meet some people from STARTTS (NSW Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors), and hopefully, some good joint work will be coming in the new year.

- I am still shaking my head for people's - well, not ignorance - inability to see ..... Even after all the predictions, all the warnings, all the now extreme happenings and major climactic events .... still there are so many who either deny or choose to ignore that our planet's climate is changing, and when they do grudgingly acknowledge it refuse to believe that WE are an influencing factor!!! Like we have not done anything to affect our world! I'm sorry but is simply an ostrich technique, and it is only going to progress.

Enough of sharing my October hangover .... visitors are coming to see my art and I must be nice :-)
